Super soccer Tuesday
Tuesday. Hard to believe it's only Tuesday when I feel beat by the week already. I played an exhibition game today and our team had no subs. I play wing and therefore I had much running to do up and down the sideline. Our team got smoked, but then again the other team had something like 8 subs so they were running us ragged in the second half. Still fun to get into the outdoor game. I have more problems with positioning in the outdoor game because the field is so much larger. Also, I need to get out of the habit of the quick one touch pass. Gotta keep those passes on the ground. But all in all, a good game.
So I've had a bit of relaxation time. Been reading lots. Been contemplating too much. I'm still not sure what to do with my life. Work is better lately in that I'm working on some modelling stuff. I realize I did myself a disservice by not getting more involved in the design stuff earlier. It's not that I can't do it, it's that I was busy doing other non-resume enhancing work earlier. And when you're low man on the totem and lowest degree you do not have a lot of pull. Still, I look back and I could have got the hell out and gone to do a degree in just about anything else. Though I also realize now that a degree means jack after your first job because your work experience counts for so much more. Another degree is only really valuable for switching industries. Still need to think on that last point.
I saw a neat bit on The Hour (by far the most interesting news show) about this website where you can see the map of the earth with the country sizes scaled by whatever category you happen to choose. Want to see who makes the most toys? You guessed it, Asia. Want to see who gobbles up all those toys? If you guessed North America and Britain you would be correct, head to the front of the line. I'll see if I can find the link tomorrow on the hour website... it's not there right now.
Ran into the ex and new bf while running on the week-end. I guess the advantage of running past is that nothing more than a quick "hi" is required. Gotta say that I absolutely called that one. They were practically dating when we broke up. Similar interests, dude is way taller than me and they're from the same area of Ontario. Really nothing I could do though because I had too many of my own issues and there was no way things were going to work out in a reasonable time frame. C'est la vie, je pense.
To bed now that the endorphins are starting to wear thin...
